Introduction

HeyAgain is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your relationships are your business — not ours, not advertisers', not anyone else's.

Here's the short version: your data stays on your phone, and we never see it.

Data We Store (On Your Device Only)

HeyAgain stores the following data locally on your device:

  • Contact information you add: names, phone numbers, photos, notes, and custom messages
  • Reminder settings: frequency, schedule, and snooze history
  • App preferences: notification times, default frequency, and theme
  • Subscription status

All of this is stored using on-device databases. None of it is ever transmitted to our servers or any third party.

Data We Collect Anonymously

To understand how people use HeyAgain and where we can improve, we collect anonymous product analytics using PostHog. No personally identifiable information is ever included.

Here's exactly what we track:

  1. App opened
  2. Contact added
  3. Reminder sent
  4. Reminder interaction
  5. Reached out action
  6. Snooze action
  7. Free tier limit reached
  8. Subscription started
  9. Onboarding completed
  10. Re-engagement reminder sent

Each event contains only the event name and an anonymous device identifier. Some events include a source property (e.g., "manual" vs. "import" for contact additions). That's it.

We may add new anonymous usage events over time to help improve HeyAgain. We'll never track anything personal — just how the app is used.

Third-Party Services

PostHog (Analytics)

PostHog receives anonymous usage events only. No personally identifiable information, contact names, or phone numbers are ever sent. PostHog Privacy Policy

RevenueCat (Subscriptions)

RevenueCat processes subscription purchases through Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It receives an anonymous device identifier and transaction data. It does not receive contact names, phone numbers, or any personal data. RevenueCat Privacy Policy

Subscription payments are processed by Apple and Google according to their respective privacy policies.

Permissions We Request

  • Notifications: To send you reminders about reaching out to contacts. Optional — the app works without notifications.
  • Contacts: To let you import contacts from your device. Used only when you explicitly choose to import. Contact data is copied locally and never sent externally.
  • Photos: To let you set a photo for a contact. Used only when you explicitly choose a photo. Never transmitted.

All permissions are optional. HeyAgain works without any of them.

What We Never Collect

  • Your contacts' names or phone numbers
  • Your notes or custom messages
  • Your reminder schedules or reach-out history
  • Your email address, real name, or location
  • Any personally identifiable information

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone. Anonymous analytics data is processed by PostHog. Subscription data is processed by RevenueCat and the respective app stores.

Data Retention

All personal data is stored on your device only. Deleting the app removes all your data. Anonymous analytics data is retained per PostHog's data retention policies.

Children's Privacy

HeyAgain is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We will update this page if our practices change. The effective date at the top reflects the latest version.
